At this engaging workshop, we’ll explore what it means to be nervous. Why do we get stage fright? Why do some social situations stress us out? The workshop is for everyone who wishes to be more comfortable in situations that give them the shakes: presentations, public speaking, social situations -- basically, doing things in front of people! Applied improv workshop for the larger public, i.e. non-improvisers.

NEW PRICE: 3,200/- per person

Always wondered how clowning techniques can influence you as an improviser, without entering the stage as a clown? Rather than becoming a clown, this workshop is about what can clowning do to enhance your skills in expression, physical movement, working together non-verbally, and also being vulnerable, accepting the here and now and reconnecting with your scene partners to support them fully.

The Bench

by Menelaos Prokos

Wed, 20 Nov, 10am - 5pm

Venue: blrFLUX, 2nd floor, Above Copper Chimney, 12th main, Indiranagar.

NEW PRICE: 3,200/- per person

The Bench is a slow improv format that we heavily work on at ImproVIBE in Greece. We believe in the beauty of taking things slowly on stage. Discovering the little elements that make a difference and can feed our impulses is what trains our observation skills and helps us read our scene partner much better and in much more depth.

Pathos & Passion

by Ben Verhoeven

Thu, 21 Nov, 10am - 5pm

Venue: blrFLUX, 2nd floor, Above Copper Chimney, 12th main, Indiranagar.

NEW PRICE: 3,200/- per person

For me, the most rewarding moment on stage doing improv is the absolute silence that engulfs a theatre during an emotional scene. Achieving this means you have successfully connected to your audience. You made them care so much that they are even holding their breath awaiting how the scene will unfold. One important aspect for creating such moments is showing honest emotions. This workshop is about exploiting real and nuanced emotions to make your audience care.

I always dreamed that life had a soundtrack, so I would know what the hell is happening. So powerful is the music. Dress with music like a second skin and she will be the inspiration that moves you. Let the music penetrate you and possess you and from her, the stories will be born. Music, body language and word mixed with a single Objective, to thrill.

The biopsy of the MC

by Charlotte De Metsenaere

Fri, 22 Nov, 10am - 5pm

Venue: blrFLUX, 2nd floor, Above Copper Chimney, 12th main, Indiranagar.

NEW PRICE: 3,200/- per person

Here you are. The Master of Ceremonies, the MC, the glue that holds improvisation and the outside world together. The one responsible for making everyone feel comfortable. The one who prepares but never over-promises. No pressure. Most groups underestimate the importance of the MC. We focus on their script - what should be said, not how and why it needs saying. This workshop performs a biopsy on the MC, with topics ranging from body language to audience warm-ups, the role of the MC.

Do it yourself

by Menelaos Prokos

Fri, 22 Nov, 10am - 5pm

Venue: blrFLUX, 2nd floor, Above Copper Chimney, 12th main, Indiranagar.

NEW PRICE: 3,200/- per person

We 're dying to get up on stage, yet for some reason, once we're up there we may feel unsafe and terrified. So what do we do? We desperately seek for support. A voice, a knock on the door, a phone ringing, another person bursting in through the walls. That is especially common at the very beginning of the scene and many times we may not even realize doing it. This workshop will show you how to handle any scene like a pro, completely by yourself, without needing the crutch of another player.

Godai - The 5 Elements

by Ignacio Gristenin

Sat, 23 Nov, 10am - 5pm

Venue: blrFLUX, 2nd floor, Above Copper Chimney, 12th main, Indiranagar.

NEW PRICE: 3,200/- per person

Godai philosophy comes from Japanese Buddhism and presents the 5 elements and their characteristics. The fifth element called K or "Void" often invokes to connect to the quintessential creative energy of the world. A warrior properly attuned to the Void can sense their surroundings and act without using the mind, and without using their "physical senses". This workshop is inspired by the oriental philosohies and the occidental theories of Lecoq, Decroux and Laban applied on physical improvisation. Using the natural energy from the inside: the impulse, the synergy and the kinethic reaction of our bodys we are going to create a favorable environment to our spirit to express itself without the censure of the mind.

by Ben Verhoeven

Sun, 24 Nov, 10am - 5pm

Venue: blrFLUX, 2nd floor, Above Copper Chimney, 12th main, Indiranagar.

4,000/- per person

Werewolves are an improvised theatre show based on the popular game Werewolves of Miller’s Hollow. The actors play out the story of a village which is struck by a werewolf curse. Every night an innocent villager is murdered. The audience has to find out who the werewolves are and execute them. Together with Sytse Wilman, I co-direct a Dutch-Belgian ensemble that performs this show at international festivals. In this workshop, you will learn to perform this show full of blood-thirsty wolves and innocent villagers. Step by step I will guide you through its different phases and teach some techniques that help to convincingly perform it. We give some special attention to suspense and the stage picture.

Out of our minds and into our bodies

by Hazel Salminen

Sun, 24 Nov, 10am - 5pm

Venue: blrFLUX, 2nd floor, Above Copper Chimney, 12th main, Indiranagar.

4,000/- per person

This workshop focuses on how we can learn to listen to the cues from the body instead of only the mind. We will explore impulses from the body, as well as different states of awareness and tension as a basis for character work. By being instead of thinking, doing instead of acting, we then dive into scenes, body first.
